We are a non-audition, mixed voice choir based in Bearsden near Glasgow. We have members with a wide range of experience and technical abilities and sing mostly classical choral music and perform at least two concerts a year. New members are always welcome An ability to read or follow music and some experience of choral singing is helpful but not essential. You will find our rehearsals enjoyable and stimulating and the atmosphere welcoming.
It is with huge regret that we have had to cancel our Christmas Concert this year owing to safety concerns surrounding rising COVID cases. If you have purchased tickets from a member of the choir please speak the them.
We are delighted to announce that from September 2021 we will be able to resume in- person rehearsals.
Owing to ongoing COVID restrictions and following a full risk assessment we need to restrict the number of people who can attend in-person rehearsals. With this in mind and to help members who are still unable or uncertain about returning to in-person rehearsals we will also be streaming sessions on Zoom. The restriction of numbers will involve members filling in a weekly attendance poll, so far we have found we have been able to accommodate all who wish to attend in person, however we will continue to monitor the situation carefully. It is of course important that members do not attend if they are showing any COVID symptoms or have been in contact with anybody who has had a positive test.
We will be holding SATB rehearsals from 7.30 - 9pm in our usual venue, St Andrews Church Hall. Safety measures we have put in place include increased ventilation, social distancing, enhanced cleaning and the wearing of face coverings throughout rehearsals. There is also a need for the restriction of movement during rehearsals which means for the time being we will not be having our usual tea break so please feel free to bring your own refreshments.
Further details are available from our membership secretary by emailing email@example.com This is also the address for any new member enquiries.
We will be charging a membership fee of £60 for the session. This can be paid in two instalments of £30 before and after Christmas.
